Meet Cameron

When Cameron was six years old, his father entered him into his first archery tournament. The two had a blast competing together, but soon grew tired of the cost and relative ease of shooting modern fiberglass bows. The thrill of hitting the target just didn’t feel the same through a $200 sight.

So, they went back to basics, crafting wooden longbows and learning how to shoot instinctively. The thrill of hitting the target was back and much more satisfying: relying on their own craftsmanship and skill over high-end technology.

Pursuing his passions for craft, design and history, Cameron went on to dabble in engineering and architecture before earning a degree in U.S. History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He then completed additional courses in design and manufacturing, honing his style and strengthening his understanding of production processes.

This led him to accept a position at a furniture restoration company in Raleigh. He loved working with antique pieces and the unique combination of form and function that furniture presented. Cameron eventually co-founded an independent furniture business before leaving for the stability of a 9 to 5 desk job.

Over the years, he learned and grew but found himself lacking the satisfaction he’d loved in sweat, sawdust and hand-hewn success. With a new sense of purpose, he answered the call to return to the workshop and devoted himself to Credle Woodworks.

Now, he specializes in furniture design, construction and restoration. He offers a range of core designs, but also loves working with clients to develop custom pieces based on their specific needs and vision.
